FC Leadership, Atmosphere and Organization

Family Councils help to make a home a "house of order."  Where there is order, unity, discipline, harmony, and trust. There love will abide  Gordon Taylor

WHY FAMILY COUNCIL
If the Family Council as the governing body of the family, then we begin to understand its value to the individual members.
It is the place to discuss the mission and purpose of the family, the rules the family will live by, the daily operation of the family unit, and the perfection of its members.
The leadership and management style are critical elements in developing the family members to be future leaders in society.

The tone and atmosphere add to the creative and support while working on life's issues.
The level of organization, while based on the size of the family, provide responsibility and training in all aspects of personal and family life.
Again, the importance of sitting together in a council session using the creative God-given genius of all family members to work on a problem is exciting.  The synergistic effect of the family council can be thrilling.

Leadership Concepts

The Family Council is a model for parenting and family management.  This  model is a council “Under God”. Rules and consequences are applied  using the theocracy principle of “Justice  and Mercy”. It recognizes the enabling power of the atonement of Jesus Christ for change and love that enhances both individual and family growth.
The family council, while a family governing body, is one of the best life skills leadership and spiritual laboratories.  It's open forum of communication helps the family and  members achieve goals and growth.

FC Atmosphere

A Family Council should provide an atmosphere of peace and love. The family council  helps provide  “order” so the Spirit of creativity and unifying support can be present. It should be a place where the spirit of God and revelation is welcome The home can thus become a house of God - a place of peace and refuge for family members. This type of peaceful order and unity is achieved through cooperation, communication, work and fun on the part of family members

FC Organization

A working Family Council  needs  some level of organization. To run effectively all members need to help manage and staff the council.  Because of the nature of the young staff members, there is need for continuing training as jobs are rotated for life skill training purposes. Jobs may also change with the maturing and aging of the family unit.
