Family Council Benefits - Spiritual Laboratory

The family council can be used to organize Gospel study and experiences to develop spiritual sensitivities of family members toward god, His plan for us and each other.  The family council by its very nature can also provide extended organized Christian service and support to others as well.p Plus support welding family links through the generations. Our family council model is based on a theocratic model following the doctrine and teaching of Jesus Christ. There are many Christ like character traits that can be taught, explored and incorporate into individual’s daily lives through the family council.  Some of these traits could include:
Develops spiritual and emotional sensitivity - working together on eternal family goals and support one another in challenges of life concerns for others and seeing others as God does. They learn to react based of inspiration and  this skill.
Spiritual feelings and impression – recognize the spirit, follow promptings develop empathy for others – understand that we are all God’s children, help family members to develop feeling for the life situations of others
Develop insight for service opportunities – seeing the needs of others as God does, promotes inspiration and insight to service that can be rendered by family members.
Develop insight into life’s purposes and God’s plan for us – teaching and experimenting with God’s plan and purpose in the Family setting creates and understand of personal self-worth of individual family members.
Using the Doctrine of Christ – faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, gift of the Holy Ghost and endure and reports in FC on experiences.
Develop Christ like character traits –use to FC model and the many attributes of character found in the life of Jesus Christ in daily living such as love, trust and integrity etc. (ref. Preach My Gospel PG #)
Use Godly characteristic of Justice and Mercy – help members understand the Plan of Redemption provided by Jesus Christ and it’s personal impact of peace in their daily lives.
Understand the consequences of sin – major and minor - with understand of rules both physical and spiritual and there consequences members can make an intelligence choice or make the needed changes.  This will be lead to greater happiness personally and in the family
Understand life’s physical and spiritual challenges – life challenges provide growth opportunities but knowing spiritual support is available reduces physical and emotion pressures
Sharing life’s burdens – life is meant to be shared experience.  Lifting the burden of another can be inspiring to the giver as well as the receiver with great personal development as a reward.
Feel the joy and peace of righteous living – it provides an atmosphere of peace and joy, because of righteous living of the individual family members
