We found that even small children love to have a job in the council.  We had them be in charge of assigning others to write to the grandparents or decide who was to give the prayer at the end of the meeting.  
We also found writing down a job description was useful to define expectations and training as job were rotated

Susan and I have used family councils to rise our large family of 8 children with great success to this point.  this website and blog id dedicated to sharing our experiences with other.   We plan to discuss issues of the day and how family councils can be used to help or resolve concerns and issues.  Our book Family Council - God's Pattern for Parenting is based on our over 40 years of experience and the minutes of our council meetings.

What is your experience with Family Council Calendars?
