Forms

We have provided a group of forms to help administer the family council. The forms do not all need to be used.

We do recommend, however, that you use the agenda form or modify it to meet your needs. We found that sometime a major special event may need its own outline. For example, when our family took a three-week train trip through Europe, the task and reports were managed separately from the family agenda.

Minutes are essential to measure progress and change, You may use the agenda or formal minutes form for this purpose. The key notes are "brief" discussion, results/tasks and assignments.

The Mission statement form is just a working document. We recommend that the final document be posted visible in the home. There are many good books about writing mission statements just apply them to the family.

Use the Goal form for both long range family and individual goals and for annual, short-range, goals. Annual goals maybe posted in individual family members room as a reminders of their goals for the year.

The family council rule form helps to codify by writing down - family rules. You may want to identify why the rule was needed. But we recommend that the rule and proposed consequence for breaking the rule be document as agreed in family council. Of course rules can be modified in council but not without discussion. This saves hours of heartache and frustration on the part of all family members.
